$50,000 Cash Reward For Summer McStay EXPIRED

I am offering a cash reward of $50,000 for the current whereabouts of Summer McStay. This reward is only good for eight (8) days, from Tuesday, February 26, 2013 through Tuesday, March 5, 2013.

The reward will be paid in cash, anonymously if requested.

To apply for the reward: the individual must provide me with the current location (during this eight day period) of Summer McStay, wife of Joseph McStay and mother of Gianni and Joseph Mateo McStay, from Fallbrook CA, who disappeared on February 4, 2010.

To collect the cash reward: photographic or video proof must be obtained (by me personally) that the female is indeed the missing Summer McStay.

I will travel to any location to obtain this photographic or video proof.

Update: I am sorry to say that the reward expired at 7:00pm on Tuesday evening. I was certain that $50,000 would bring forth information currently not known, but I guess I was mistaken.

  1. Hi. Glad you r wrking hard on this case. Seems like the case is opening up more. You have a good heart and I can see that you care about the kids as much as everyone else. Thanks again!

  2. Speaking hypothetically of course, how would someone contact you if they thought they had that information?

  3. You are a good person for devoting so much time in helping this family come home and bring answers to many! God bless you!

  4. Rick,

With your investigative team proffering that Summer may have been killed and Joseph aided by family to go into hiding (a theory I speculated about months ago as the only one that fit most pieces--aside from that being Summer in the border video), why the sudden generous offer for Summer's whereabouts...presumably alive?

    ReplyDelete
  5. Well, he never exactly specified that she had to be alive! My guess is he'd be willing to offer some kind of generous reward even if you could show him where remains were that proved to be hers!

  6. I just watched this on ID....it is heart breaking. I looked to see if there was any up dates.. I will pray for this family's safe return.

  7. Was there zero security camera footage from the strip mall they left the car at??

  8. Rick,

anything to report on here with your new offer out there??

  9. I can't believe there isn't a single person out there who doesn't know where she is! Or even her remains! I wish there were more people in the world who knew about this reward. Maybe it needs to be put on national television!

  10. Right, as of now people have to view this blog to be aware of this reward correct? I would say that basically eliminates the possibility of someone claiming this/locating Summer---how about using 10k or so of this money toward some national/international attention? English & Spanish.

    1. The $50,000 is available to anyone who produces Summer. Plenty of people see this blog and word of mouth has been wide. The right people know about the reward.

  11. Rick, it seems like you have some idea of someone who knows where Summer is and are speaking directly to them? Is this a hunch? Or does it have something to do with some of the information you mentioned in the book that you had to keep private because you promised you would?

  12. SPAIN keeps popping up in my head..that the McStays (or some of them anyway) could be there. I suppose it is not unrealistic to ponder that possibility.

    1. They didn't have passports, so I don't see how they could get there.

    2. Hi SG, If they were in the (WPP) Witness Protection Program (has been one of my Top Theories) they would/could have passports. Carol

    3. Oh, I see. Yes, WPP is one of my top theories as well.

    4. The police vehemently insist they are not. I even think their disappearance would never have been made public if they were in the Witness Protection Program. Just my thoughts...

      Delete
    5. But does the police insisting they're not in WPP really mean anything? I mean, they can't very well verify it. I guess they could hope that denying it might throw people off that trail.

I do agree that their disappearance shouldn't have been made public if they're in WPP, but I do think WPP explains away a lot of the case.

Also, don't they keep people in America? I don't know a lot of real-life scenarios, but I didn't think WPP placed people in other countries.

      Delete
    6. I agree....if they are in the WPP LE is NOT required to admit it (and of course they would'nt!) Also....they have in the past put people in the WPP in OTHER countries. I think they were either involved in some Drug activity...loan sharking (something along those lines) or merely innocently witnessed something along those lines! Watch the Geraldo interview with Mike...watch HIS MOUTH and what he does and his swallowing Precisely when Geraldo asks him questtions along those lines. What he does are clearly signs of lieing/withholding information.

  13. Spain and Ireland have both popped into my head also for the last year or so.

  14. They also had enough money in their safe, I am guessing, to buy fake passports... Human trafficking, if you will.... They could have bribed someone...

  15. Maybe "they" need a more tempting offer in the last 48 hours to make betraying Summer's "hiding place" something they'll consider? She may never speak to "them" again, ya know?

    1. I don't know, I thought that $50,000 cash USD was a pretty tempting offer, but I may have been duped. We shall see.

  16. Ha ha! I wouldn't shy away from $50,000, but yes, we shall see! Sometimes the secrecy and dysfunction runs deep. Or perhaps they are scared for their lives, considering what they now know Summer is capable of! -KN

  17. Rick I feel badly for you because you are hideous...if you were more attractive you might get better book sales!

    1. What a childish statement! If you were smarter you would know book sales are doing just fine!

    2. That wouldn't be a comment made by a person with a lot to hide now, would it? Sounds like someone who would make death threats towards Rick because they're scared he's exposing a little too much information, leaving you a little paranoid about the dirty little secrets you've been hiding.

  18. I got your ebook the last week in Jan, I had my bachlorette party weekend on feb 1 and part of my surprise weekend was going to see a psychic. At the the end of my session I asked about this case just bc it was so fresh in my mind bc I had just finished the book and I know he works with the police and familes on many cases well known. He said he had been contacted by several other people about this case as well and that he thinks summer had a lot to do with josephs disappearance. He said he feels she had other people harm him bc she just wanted to start a new life and she didn't want to do that with him. He said that she was really messed up and goofy in the head and that the type of man that joeseph was he wouldn't just leave his life and everyone in it like that and he said he was a very good guy. So before that I really wasn't sure which theory I believed bc I had hoped for them to have just walked away together to start a new life, But I now fully believe that Summer is responsible for this. So please keep up the good work and find those kids.

  19. Well the clock is ticking down and still nothing?

Someone out there knows something one way or the other about what happened to this family.

If I were going to make myself vanish and needed help I would go to someone least likely for LE to be knocking on their door. That rules out friends, family, business associates. I would probably go to someone I knew through a pot connection or some other off- the -beaten- path person to hook me up with fake documents or whatever for a fee. That person would not be likely to spill the beans, might have even given their word they would not and the more time that passes the less likely they would be to come forward for fear of retaliation from a whole host of sources.

There are still people in this world who keep their word believe it or not. And if I were such a person I certainly would not come forth at this point either. This may be a case of someone under the radar who wants to stay there but knows exactly what happened, maybe even knows where they are today and 50K is not going to entice them to get involved in this mess. Maybe no $ amount would.

    1. I'm thinking this offer might be directed to Mike. It seems he knows where the family might be, and we know he helped himself to their money, so money could be a great motivator here. If he collected it anonymously, no one would really know for sure (except for Rick)who told.

  20. Whoever used the capital one cc 6 months after they were gone had to have known they weren't coming back. Its so hard to believe that someone goes missing let alone an entire family and within months a company is run into the ground, accounts drained, cc bills used and prob ran up, house ransacked and items "sold" ect and extended familiy is not worried that hey they just might pop up in a day or so. I find that awfully weired. Say they did come back or were found their home forclosed, no belongings, no business and no money. So I am without a doubt for sure mm and his mom knew something and was doing all of this to aid him hints the rude comment from his mother about summer not needing items where she's at and cleaning the potential crime scene and the odd time frame that it took to call LE ect. Mommy and Brother helped JM get away period end of story. The moms moved away and distanced herself from this you haven't heard much from her in a while huh, odd. Most parents of missing people dedicate their lives to finding their missing children. And I bet you any amount of money JM is somewhere reading between the lines on that family site and his brothers fb getting hints and subliminal messages on where the search is where the supposed sightings are ect. Wonder if they can track who visits the sites or investigate his friends list on fb. I agree with the strangulation and missing futon cover. Funny how the popcorn bowls were sitting on the futon with no cover to prob mask the fact that the cover wasn't there as if they never had one at all.

  21. Mikey publishes on his family website that there are those insensitive haters out there who dont know what the family is going through and that this is 'real life'. Thats spin to get the camera off he himself and an accomplice, and your book, Rick, is his worst nightmare. If anything is going to ultimately pin the blame where it truly belongs, your research will do it. I wonder how he is sleeping at night? If you watch interviews he has undertaken on shows he has been on, the content of discussion is always similar, but his affect and mannerisms are consistent with someone who is lying. What wouldnt surprise me is if we found out that they are all deceased, including summer. She has failed at her previous scamming endeavors, so what reason would one have to think she has been successful at pulling the wool over the worlds eyes for 3 years? No one has seen her or the family for 3 years? No one wants 50 grand? Theres a sinister reason for these questions, and I think we know who has the answers.

  22. Rick: You stated that you expected this recent $50k reward to bring about new information but now feel duped since it didn't. Being duped suggests someone gave you reason to believe the reward would work in drawing someone out of the woodwork who could point you in the right direction. Is there anything you can share in this regard? My curiosity is peaked.

    1. I was told that if I put up a $50,000 reward for Summer and made it good for 8 days, that something would come of it. I did my part and am not sure if I was duped, or set up, or someone got cold feet, or whatever. Either way, I tried, which is all any of us can do.

    2. Rick - Thanks for answering my question by sharing that additional information, as well as for giving it a shot by putting the reward out there. Sometimes it feels like I'm sitting on the edge of my seat anxiously waiting for some news. Other times it seems futile. Thanks for continuing to try figuring out this mystery for all of us who are so intrigued by the case.

  23. Why would Joey purchase the Fallbrook home, then list it "For Sale" only 8 days later? If the intent was to embark on some major remodeling and landscaping plans in order to re-sell quickly for a substantial profit, would one list their home for sale that quickly after their purchase?

Joey's home remained For Sale until 6/19/10, when the bank took hold of it and subsequently foreclosed on the property on or about 7/12/11. From 11/25/09 to 6/19/10 Joey's home was only briefly pulled off the market on two separate occasions, 12/18/09 and 2/26/10, but by the end of those respective days, the home was again listed For Sale.

On 10/28/11 the bank listed the foreclosed home for sale, and it was subsequently sold on 12/28/11 as we have read.

Does all this sound curiously strange to anyone else? Can we believe that from 11/25/09 until the McStay's disappearance and beyond, that curious home buyers would even want to walk through that horribly filthy and messy home? And again, why would it be on the market only 8 days after Joey purchased it?

    1. That is very strange..WHY would they put there home up for sale right after they bought it?
Come to think of it, in some video (can't remember which one) I for sure recall seeing a For Sale sign in the yard, AND the trooper was in the driveway, so this WASENT, after they disappeared, this was when they lived there, and they hadnt even lived there very long.

  24. I am completely fascinated with this case. I've seen many shows telling the story, but your website is the only thing I can find that gives any more information. It just seems impossible that there is nothing!! And other missing cases I have seen, they always try different ways of looking at the case, but every show I see about the McStays, never even mentions taking a different look at anything. Never any mention of bad blood between Summer and Joey Yes it is possible that the police are keeping information from us, and with good intentions. A close friend of mine passed away almost a year ago, he was stabbed to death from an intruder in his apartment. All signs point to it being a crime of passion, and my friend must have known the assailant but they still have no leads, and there is a lot of information they are holding back so no one will flee if they need to speak to them, and I'm sure for many other reasons. There is still a $50,000 reward for any information on the murder of my friend Sam Michel, and still no one has come forward. I hope you don't mind if I post a link to it on here, It is nice to see others so concerned for the right reasons. I hope you uncover the truth, I have lots of respect for you, and I will be watching. I will purchase your book very soon.

  25. This is the first I've heard of the home being listed for sale 8 days after Joey and Summer moved in. Can this information be verified somewhere?

I don't know why, but I'd be creeped out to live in their home.
